After contacting team officials today, they notified me that Carlos Beltran is making steady progress towards returning to the Mets lineup. "I spoke with Jerry and Omar, and they told me that I can wipe my own a**" explained Beltran.
This is significant progress from last week in which club officials had to monitor Beltran's stool activity. Beltran plans to return to the Mets lineup sometime around June of 2014, assuming that he is allowed to chew his own food within the next 3 months, as well as assuming the 2012 apocalypse doesn't go as planned.
"We are very encouraged" Minaya told me.
